Survival of the blizzarded

Hello everyone! Welcome to our blog. We are going to give this another try. We had a blog about 3 years ago but never were able to get it going correctly. So, Take Two!! For those who don't know, we had a blizzard in mid December that ended up dumping 6 and a half feet of snow!! Of course that was the running tally but 2.5' fell in 24 hours. The 6.5 ' fell in 14 days. That's right 14 straight days of fresh snow. A skiers paradise!

Unfortunately, it stopped snowing and eventually warmed and froze and warmed and froze and then we went skiing. Dakota loved skiing! He would get moving and then look at the trees and other people and then get going so fast that he'd run into uncle Toby and crash. Mommy tried to take Ellianna up on the lift but the boss man said NO. So, she hiked up half the mountain with the little lady strapped to her chest and gave the man the bird. OK, well, she didn't give him the bird. Our dogs loved the snow too! Well, the getting to the kennel part was tough.
Our dog Bulldozer loved the snow so much that it was his undoing. He played like the puppy that he was and gave Scully a run for her money. After the fun he had, he relly aggravated his knees and hips. He stopped eating and was in considerable amounts of pain. After three days of sitting by and waiting to see his ears perk up and his spirit to return, we realized that he would need more serious measures. We said our goodbyes and told the goddog to speed his arrival to the fire hydrant in the sky. Scully was greatly affected by this and moped around the house for 3 weeks. So, in our infinite wisdom, we got another dog. I mean we rescued a dog. I mean we rescued a really gentle dog. I mean we rescued a really gentle dog that is a..... a.............. a puppy. She fits right in. She pees on the floor, chews up everything she finds and doesn't care about her flatulence. Baileys her name and playings her game.

Des spends most days yelling at the dogs, yelling at the kids, yelling at the cat, yelling at the turtle, and throwing food at the worms. Sure is great to have her at home. Chris gets to have a daily ciesta by going to work and driving in circles over and over and over and over and over again. What a pair we make! In our spare time we like to try and run 2 businesses and hike and bike and swim and travel and do all the normal stuff that insanity brings. Oh ya, did I mention that we are going to finish our basement this winter. Man, Bring On World Peace!! And on that note, I think I'll give it to you. Peace that is. Hope your day is full of quiet hapless butterflies caressing your cheeks. The ones by your nose that is.
